Our guide was very outgoing and did her best to make the tour enjoyable. Some of the stops were very good and others just OK. I've been on many food tours and they usually present a wealth of information about the town, the architecture, the restaurants and the food and drink we will taste. Usually, the destinations are carefully chosen for their historical value, atmosphere, or signature dishes. Al lot of that was missing in this trip. Our guide had minimal information about Williamsburg, the restaurants or the food we were tasting. A couple of the stops were pizza and subs - food that can be eaten pretty much anywhere. A couple of the stops were at nice food shops, but those samples can be had without the assistance of a food tour. With all the wonderful cuisine and historic locations in Williamsburg, this could have been much better.
That said, we did very much enjoy the mac and cheese at Blue Talon Bistro and the cupcake at Justified Bakery. We enjoyed the company of our group and April sincerely did her best to make the tour fun.
