Easily one of the best tours I've ever been on. I'm a big fan of history and craft beer and the Ye Olde Tavern Tour was easily a 10/10 in both categories. Definitely something I'd recommend to anyone I know traveling to Boston anytime soon. Our guide Rachel was fantastic and made the experience incredible. She even gave us some great recommendations of other things to do around the city while we were there!
Having actual history experts leading the tour was a great experience as well. I've taken a couple of the basic tours offered throughout the city in the past, and never have I had as detailed and interesting of a tour covering a great expanse of early revolutionary history. Ye Olde Tavern Tours mentions how the concept was founded by a Phd in American History and that all tour guides have studied history in undergrad/graduate school and you can really tell! Rachel had comprehensive and captivating answers to every question we could think of.
As for the taverns, they were incredible! We got to drink beer/cider in these fantastic, revolutionary-esque taverns that the Founding Fathers and other historical figures had planned the revolution in. The beer was great too! Several options at each stop, all from some great New England breweries such as Lord Hobo and Jack's Abbey.
Also to add, we were the only two present for the tour we had booked and I just wanted to mention how appreciative we were that the tour wasn't canceled for that reason. I know it may seem like a simple thing to many people, but it's a reason I'll always recommend Ye Olde Tavern Tours to people.
Thank you Ye Olde Tavern Tours and Rachel!
