I wanted to love this. I really really did. My 14 year old son and I were in Phoenix for the Cardinals game and we had nothing to do on Saturday and this place looked great! And the reservations were easy and I switched to an earlier time spot since we were going to arrive early and they were very accommodating which was great. We had Alex and Phil for our guides and they seemed to be genuinely nice people. We were in a group with probably 8 other people and it seemed to go pretty smoothly getting us out to the first platform. I am not in amazing shape, so not gonna lie, I was completely out of breath by the time I got to the top. It was almost 100 degrees out so it was just not what this girl from Alaska is used to haha. That has nothing to do with this review, just thought I would mention I thought the stairs were pretty tiring LOL.
My first complaint was that there was not a photographer. At first I was told that he was taking pictures of people doing the other zipline (a $25 one time thing) and that he had a sick son or something and so he needed the money? I didn't really understand the connection. Is there only one photographer? It was Saturday afternoon, that would seem to be the prime time for people to visit would be the weekend. We weren't permitted to take cameras or anything, and then we didn't have anyone to take pictures. I was completely prepared to pay the $49 for the CD to have the memories. We were told maybe on the last one we could get some pictures.
So, I have been ziplining in Costa Rica and the Honduras. So this was a completely disappointing zipline honestly. It was not very exciting at all. And come to find out, that at 1 in the afternoon, basically NONE of the animals are out, they are all trying to get out of the sun. Makes sense however maybe they should switch their hours or something so that when you pay to zipline and see animals, you actually get to see animals. We saw a giraffe and some zebras and a bear was sitting in a big bathtub that was pretty cute. There are pictures posted on tripadvisor of people ziplining upside down and fun poses, we didn't get ANY of that. I was totally looking forward to going upside down or doing something different rather than getting from point A to point B over a bunch of land with no animals out.
We got to the last one, and one of our guys took pictures of us while we came down the "big finale" zipline which was just longer than the other ones and two people can go at one time. I think this is where some people got to go upside down as shown in the pictures, but not our group. I was totally disappointed. So we got to keep the pictures from the one zipline for $20, which I bought just to have something but I don't love the pictures. I can't believe how many people give this rave reviews, I am just baffled? Maybe we were just there on an off day, or maybe I am spoiled from other zip lines, I am not sure, but if I had to do it over again, I would just walk around the park and skip the ziplining so hopefully I could see some animals. Completely not worth it. I write a travel blog and I was really excited to do a post about this place, oh well. I would not recommend the zip line. That has nothing to do with the park, we did not walk around the park so I can't say how that is.
