I am 73 years old, and have never zip lined before. In fact, I was a little scared of the prospect. That all changed yesterday, when friends and I went to the Predator Zip Line in Camp Verde, AZ. Our group was treated like royalty by Robin, the owner, as well as by Fernando and Corinne, our extremely capable and competent guides.
After signing the mandatory waiver and being briefed on the do's and donts of zip lining, we were each helped into our harness and helmet. Then the fun really began. We were trucked to the first of five zip line stations, where we climbed 119 steps to arrive at a platform 75 feet high. After a second safety review, first Robin and then Fernando zipped across. Communication was excellent, as no one after the guide (or owner) was permitted to zip prior to a guide receiving a radio o.k that they were ready for the next zipper. I was the last to go, and I was really nervous. However, with the training and encouragement I received from our guides, I took a deep breath and took off, zipping over some of the beautiful cats at the Out of Africa wild animal park. It really felt great to get that first one under my belt it got easier with each succeeding zip.
In summation. The owner and the guides couldn't have been nicer, or more helpful, and zipping over wild animals was a thrill of a lifetime. It was a peak experience, and I have the pictures to prove it. That experience was priceless!
