approximately 1 to 1.5 miles of moderate hiking round trip. 400 feet of vertical elevation gain. We are located at about 5,200 feet elevation.

We didn't know what to expect and were very surprised and excited to tour one of the old mines. The mine, the town and all the history were fascinating, and Michael and Ralph did a great job explaining the history. We could have hiked and explored all day and look forward to a return trip! Great job and highly recommended!

My friends & I visited here yesterday (7-3-20) The experience was awesome as was our tour guide and the owner. Both were cheerfully accommodating; making sure we had water, hats and even provided us with walking sticks. The mine was safe, very interesting & our guide really knew his local history as well as mining information. The turquoise pieces you could purchase in their shop were gorgeous & of course authentic. I highly recommend this non-commercial Arizona experience. What I love about their mission statement is the fact that they are going "old school" mining with little impact on wildlife & surrounding land as well as reaching out to local schools to enrich our youth. They are a blessing to the community. Thank you!

Our mission to conduct scientific research, educate the public, and work to protect this area for future generations is funded by your support in taking our tours and purchases of our Courtland turquoise, sustainably harvesting genuine turquoise in the ways that Native peoples have for centuries. You can easily drive through Courtland and enjoy the remnants on a road tour, but taking advantage of the rich wealth of knowledge of our guides will bring surprising delights! Had an incredible time. Michael and Ralph were very knowledgeable and helpful. We were given the history of the town and of the mining. The history of the Native Americans in the area was also provided. The tour included collecting rocks, going inside a mine and observing evidence of Native American activities. We plan on going back.
