Unique to the Big Island of Hawaii, over a dozen species of whales can be found on the Kona Coast year-round! Join us as we explore the offshore in search of pilot whales, false killer whales, whale sharks, spinner dolphins, sperm whales, and more!

Our Hawaiian Adventures crew is passionate about whales, and we pride ourselves on being the whale experts of the Big Island. The ocean provides new opportunities on every tour, so trust the guides who do this every day! Our crew works hard to show you the most wildlife on every trip, and we aim to leave you with a new appreciation for Kona’s whales, wildlife, and vibrant ecosystem. As promised we saw dolphins and humpback whales. Onboard a naturalist provided detailed information on the animals and, in some instances, a history of and stories about specific whales, baby whales, etc. She was knowledgeable and engaging. Visitors who have never been on a whaling tour should know that they are seeing sea creatures who stay mostly underwater & therefore chances for a truly awesome picture or video are hit or miss. If your motivation for the tour is to capture an image of a breaching whale, you probably should lower your expectations. On the other hand if you want to see whales, dolphins or other sea creatures, rest assured that on this tour you will both see them and learn a lot about their behavior and habitat. This is a great tour for interested older youth or teenagers, and older people who want to see and know more about these amazing animals.

Great crew! Spent our time trailing a Fin whale, something quite rare from what we were told. Saw several Humpback Mamas and their calves, and over 50 Spinner dolphins doing their thing! Beautiful time spent out on the water.

It was great! We saw so many amazing animals! Tuna fish, flying fish, a hammerhead shark, a bunch of spinner dolphins, and of course, whales! We even were able to witness a baby whale breach! It was a great experience and the people who run the tour are great as well!
