Touring Utah’s National and State Parks with Desert Solitude was like visiting them with an extremely knowledgeable life-long friend. Our guide, Neil Petersen, always put our comfort and desires above any preconceived agenda or schedule. He patiently answered any and all questions we had, explained our options regarding hikes, visits to overviews, and literally went out of the way (think unpaved off-road canyons) to provide our small 6-person group with views and experiences we would have never otherwise encountered. Additionally, Neil is an excellent photographer and provided us with some professional-quality photos of the various couples on the trip that we could not have created (or even envisioned) on our own. In addition to visiting Canyonlands, Arches, Capital Reef and Bryce Canyon, we were also able to experience Goblin Valley State Park and some overlooks in the Escalante National Monument. As if that wasn’t enough, when we arrived back in Salt Lake City a bit earlier than anticipated, Neil asked if we wanted a tour of some of SLC’s more popular sights. Experiencing these daily adventures was truly a trip of a lifetime!
