My sister and I took the Gettysburg Battlefield tour. We choose the air conditioned bus tour as it was summer and it was our first time in Gettysburg so we didn't know our way around. The driver and guide were great. From the time we left the driveway the guide gave us information all along the way through town and through the battlefields. He answered questions and was very knowledgeable. We saw some great locations and were able to get out at several sites to take photos. One of the most awesome location stops was Little Round Top. I would recommend this tour.
This was an awesome tour and should have been an hour longer, just when it seemed like our guide was getting going on explaining exactly what was in our view the bus would start moving again. The tour was extremely interesting and educational and the bus stopped at many landmarks throughout the battlefield, which amazingly covered more territory than I had originally thought. Also, the bus station gift shop had some unique items and we bought tons of stuff that was nicely priced. I would do this tour again.
There is a ton of information and the tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The driver was awesome in maneuvering that big bus around the narrow streets and tight turns. The ear plugs worked very well and we could hear him the entire trip, The battleground is huge, much bigger than I imagined and the memorials all over were impressive. I was amazed that so many buildings were still standing from the time of the Civil War and we even saw evidence of bullet holes and canon balls stuck in walls--reminders of the tragic fighting that divided our country.
