Two reasons why I enjoyed this tour so much:
Reason #1: I couldn't believe the natural beauty of Shingle Creek, complete with all its wide variety of wildlife and vegetation, could possibly exist so close to the concrete and development of the Disney World area, yet feel so far away from all the hustle and bustle. Except for the planes flying overhead, I felt as though I was miles and miles away from everything.
Reason #2: Our guide, Alex, was more than just knowledgeable about the plants and animals we saw: Alex's genuine enthusiasm and enjoyment of what he saw and pointed out to us, and his descriptions of how each one fit into the natural order - turtles, birds, trees, alligators, even the little crustaceans living in the bottom of Shingle Creek - made all of us feel excited to be a part of the tour with him.
I can't wait to visit here again on my next trip to Florida.
