Each tour is lead by an experienced Navajo guide, who is certified by the Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation Dept. and National Park Service. Each and everyone of our guides was born and raised in this Canyon De Chelly area, allowing them to gain a vast knowledge of its history to share with all our guests who visit this place we call home. As well as learning about the canyon's rich history, rock art sites and other archeological sites, you will hear stories and tales of life in the canyon and get a chance (time permitted and seasonal option) to visit our guide's families who still weave, farm, ranch, and continue to live a traditional Navajo lifestyle in this rural part of the southwest. My daughter and I did a 3 plus hour hiking tour with Daniel and his son Leander. We highly recommend both!!! They were engaging, fit and very informative and friendly. Just stellar! We loved the Bear hike to Tunnel route. 100 percent recommend. Truly, don’t know how it could have been better. I’m an avid hiker and thought it was a nice moderate route.

The 3 hour tour with Elvira (and supplemented by JT) gave us an understanding of the nature and the geology of the canyon, the ancient inhabitants of the canyon, Navajo traditions, and the current day life of those who work in (and some who live in) the canyon.
