This is one of our staff favorites because you have time to really experience the stunning beauty of the area. There are dozens of incredible high-alpine locations the are ideally suited for heli hiking. Most of them have a view of at least one glacier, sometimes two or three. Depending on the weather, your specific interest and your preference for a more leisurely hike or a steep scramble your guide suggests the best location.

What a fantastic flight ! My group spent 4 hours with pilot Steven and his helicopter. Our first stop was on a promontory on a mountain side with an incredible view of several glaciers - truly spectacular. Next, we flew to a small mountain in the middle of the glacier field. We hiked to the top with about a 400 foot climb, then returned down another path. Again, we had great views of multiple glaciers with snow covered mountains in the distance. The pace of the hiking was very relaxed, and we chose our own route. Last, we flew to and landed on a glacier. Steven fitted us with crampons so we could explore the glacier for about one half hour. The return path over the valley was also beautiful. We saw bears and moose. We all felt very comfortable in the helicopter. Overall, it was an exhilarating experience. You should add this excursion to your bucket list; it's truly special.
