Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon

Rise early to begin your hot-air balloon experience. Stop into the office for check-in, then ride to the balloon launch site (which varies day-to-day depending on weather). Your pilot begins the process of inflating the balloon when you arrive. You can even help out the crew during the inflation process for a more hands-on experience. As you float high above the ground, enjoy incredible birds-eye views of the Rio Grande Valley. Your pilot determines the route for the day depending on the wind’s direction. You may fly over the city of Albuquerque and even dip low enough to wave at people or skim the Rio Grande River. Throughout your flight, your pilot shares informative commentary about the landscape beneath you. After approximately one hour in the air, your pilot lands the balloon and the ground crew comes to meet you. Celebrate your flight with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a commemorative flight certificate before returning to the original starting point.

All team members were very professional, our balloonist Alfred Salazar was very professional, courteous and make our trip enjoyable. The ride is simply amazing, it was so much fun. We felt safe at all times, would highly recommend this adventure to anyone

Rainbow Ryders was so good about communicating with us - they called in advance to offer us the opportunity to change our flight date as bad weather was expected, but we were unable to so we stuck with original date and got very lucky as the weather changed and we had an absolutely perfect morning for our flight. Dean was great - kept it upbeat and fun and reassuring. We had a group of about 12 of varying ages in our group and he and the crew were so wonderful helping everyone. I felt very safe in their hands. The whole experience is very peaceful and not frightening at all unless you have a fear of heights I suppose. It does get very hot on the back of your neck/head when they fire the propane - and loud, which was frightening for the child in our group. Enjoyed the champagne "Albuquerque Sunrise" celebration drink at the end. Had a great time.

Dean Donley, our pilot, was fantastic. Wonderful personality, expert navigation, and humble. The experience is definitely a bucket list adventure. Seeing all the balloons ascend as you go up is awesome. The confirmation letter needs to identify the need to purchase a ticket to get into the fiesta with MORE BOLD LETTERS. The wait to buy a ticket and then the wait to enter the park and then the wait to check-in is bothersome. However the experience is wonderful.

Hi John and thanks for your review. Dean is an amazing pilot and we are very lucky to have him on our team! I'm glad you enjoyed your experience with us though and I'm sorry for the extra long wait to get through to buy tickets as well as check in! We are lucky enough to fly well over 300 passengers every day but that does mean a lot of crowd control on top of the already thousands of guests visiting the Balloon Fiesta every day! We'll certainly look into ways to possibly get everyone checked in quicker for next year though and we hope you'll be able to fly with us again soon!
