Our tour guide was a cranky woman which did not help the experience. The Amish people we met on the tour were very friendly, but the whole tour could have been completed in 1.5 hours instead of 3 hours. Everyone on our bus seemed to be getting bored but we had to stay at each stop for basically 1 hour regardless. We stopped at a Harness shop, met with an Amish woman at her home and also went to a Dairy Farm. The Dairy Farm was probably the best stop so that everyone could finally purchase some Amish treats. Also it was a very hot day and there was no way to purchase water or use a restroom until the tour was over so it is best to bring your own beverages. We have visited Amish country several times but this is probably the tour we will not be doing again.

Sorry to hear this experience wasn't to your liking. I agree it is a good idea for people to bring water along. On really hot days the Amish stops aren't as comfortable - no AC. But at least our bus is climate controlled.

Our Guide Beth was Great- the bus had 10 of us, which was a great number, The experience goes to 3 locations the first two were great and very informative- we went to buggy making business, then sat down with a mother and her 4 little girls to ask any questions we had. The 3rd stop was to a dairy farm, where the leader for us was the 12 year old son of the farmer. Beth did her best to help with the discussion, but this stop was kind of a waste, where it could have been very interesting. I will say that we went on a holiday where they added an earlier time- it is possible that had we taken the evening tour, we would have seen actual milking and an adult farmer could lead the discussion. The following has nothing to do with the Amish Experience as a company: *I just want to warn you- if you are an animal activist at all, the dairy farm we went to is not kind to animals. The cows do not leave their chained position unless they are pregnant. This is not a graze during the day and get milked twice a day operation.

Kent was our driver and guide. His indepth and first hand knowledge about Amish culture made this tour so enjoyable and a real learning experience
