We were excited when we were texted information telling us how to spot our tour guide holding a lantern at the meeting point. For me, that immediately set the tone for a good tour. I also nerded out a little bit for the experience and opted for the EMF reader. Each spot our guide showed us had very interesting stories giving the city more character to its history. We were unfortunately unable to go into these places as some were very active businesses. Our time was on a Saturday the weekend before Halloween-LOTS of people dressed up celebrating. We were able to hear him above the activity around us. There were a couple spots that the reader went off which I made note of to pass along to him. I would have definitely put it to work inside the stops we went to. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves & recommend this activity to hear another side of Austin and get some walking in! For the company, keep using that lantern! Put it on a shepherd’s hook & carry it throughout the tour. A reaper’s cloak would add a nice touch too.

My friend and I took my son (11) as a fun Halloween tour. For people bringing kids- Part of the tour route circles back and takes the group all the way down dirty 6th. Since we went around 9pm on a Saturday night, the street was somewhat alcohol-infused and not the best idea for kids. I would suggest circling back a different route and meeting-up with the group on Congress. Not too big of a deal. We all enjoyed the stories and Austin history. Our tour guide was awesome. I definitely recommend.

My husband and I decided to take a late vacation to Austin to visit some friends. They wanted to try this tour and I was hesitant. I am so glad that I took the leap and went on this tour it was so much fun!
