Our next stop is the iconic Driskill Hotel, a landmark that has stood at the heart of Austin since 1886. This grand Romanesque building is not just known for its opulence and history, but also for the numerous ghostly encounters reported by guests and staff alike.

On July 23, 1916, a fire at the three-story Kreisle Building located at Congress Avenue and 4th Street began just after 1:00 pm. Initial reports described fire coming from the rear of the Bell Motor Company; soon afterward, explosions were heard……..

This was such a fun and exciting tour! Not only did we learn about the historical and educational facts of Austin, the title of the tour speaks for itself! Murders, serial killers, and ghosts have been prominent in this town and the background stories are unbelievable! The tour starts at the Tavern and you walk through the streets of Austin and learn more and more on the way stopping at examples and landmarks. The tour guide Jaime was so well knowledgeable about everything and would make extra stops along to way to tell us more about the towns history or fun stories. We were so so excited to have booked this tour and he blew our expectations out the water. Walking around town is one thing but learning about it from someone who knows what they’re talking about and keeps it interesting - really makes the difference of a whole vacation. 10/10 recommend!!

This was a wonderful tour, with a tour guide that was a wealth of knowledge! About many different things, so you actually got a tour of the city and the ghost tour. It made for an amazing way to see some of the city at night and to learn about ghosts, murders, and history of Austin.

We took this haunted tour as something fun to do while we visited my sister who lives in Austin. It was a very cold night in Austin but Jamie was there and ready to go for us! He was very personable and still seemed excited to have a small group to tour despite the cold. He was interested in our stories and he was a great story teller. We enjoyed our walk to Austin haunted spots as it helped to keep us warm. We liked how he included photos on his iPad that helped us to visualize and in some cases actually see proof of ghosts. Our favorite place was the Driskill hotel and hearing of all the stories from past encounters. We would highly recommend this tour, and Jamie is a great host!
