My family and I booked a cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) and were surprised to find that they did not offer a tour of Baltimore. Since we had a afternoon flight home and had to disembark in the early morning, we were hoping to find a tour/transfer package that would drop us off at the airport (BWI). I found some very positive comments on Tripadvisor about I Love Baltimore Personal Tours and emailed Ira Cunningham, the owner, for information. Ira replied to very quickly, leading to a phone call when I booked the tour/transfer for August 17th. After thinking about how impressive his customer service was, I texted him back to see if he could pick us up at BWI and take us to our hotel (we flew to Baltimore the day before the cruise), and to pick us up from the hotel the next morning and take us to the cruise terminal. Ira responded quickly, again with very reasonable rates, and I booked these transfers with him as well. I received a reminder confirmation a couple of days before we left home. Once we landed and had our luggage, I texted Ira to let him know we had arrived and our location. He responded almost immediately and picked us up on time at the airport at the baggage claim area we were at. Ira is super nice, timely, and very knowledgeable...especially about Baltimore! His son, Ira Jr., works with him and they were more than helpful getting us and our luggage in and out of the van. They even brought our luggage into the hotel during a downpour! They were also right on-time picking us up the next morning and dropped us off as close to the ship as they were allowed. On our return, we disembarked earlier than expected. No problem! I texted Ira to tell him, and he replied within a few minutes to say that he would be there 15-30 minutes earlier than we agreed, cutting our wait time in half!! Awesome customer service! Ira had a couple of welcome bags prepared for us, and bottled water....both unexpected. This was a very nice and well-received gesture as we were about to embark on a historical tour about 2.5 hours long. As usual, Ira demonstrated his vast knowledge of Baltimore and its history. We learned and saw so much. Ira even adjusted his normal tour route so we could see more of the Johns Hopkins Medical School before taking us to the airport. I Love Baltimore Personal Tours provided my family an educational and entertaining alternative to sitting in the airport most of the day, and we were all impressed with the love he has for his city, his organization, and his customer service. Great job!!
