As we were visiting Jockey Ridge, we can across the Hang Gliding School. They didn't have any openings that day but we signed up for the following day. The weather was beautiful and the wind was perfect! Jude (the lead instructor) was FANTASTIC, accurate, informative and made us super comfortable/able to hang glide. Once we did a 30 minute course with his, he lead us to the sand dunes where we met our hang gliding guides for the rest of the time. Spencer.....I don't have enough words for him. He was so patient with us (including our 6 year old) and made it so fun. It took me a couple of tries to fully get the 'hang' of the glider. THANK YOU to the team and we can not wait to come back!

Best experience ever!! Instructors were very knowledgable about the whole hang gliding history & science but kept it simple enough to grasp. Really let us know how much they respected & loved the sport Absolute blast of actually flying was fantastic! Instructions were clear & instructors made sure we were each comfortable as we took flight. With a total of 5 flights for each person I felt the $ value of the experience was very worth it!! Recommend for any & all ge groups. If you can climb a sand dune,you can do this!!

This course was very instructional and practical, giving you what you need to know for your first hang gliding flight. I was apprehensive at first but our instructors Bill and Braden were very encouraging and supportive. They put us at ease so we got more comfortable with each flight. It’s fun for all ages. The place Jockey’s Ridge State Park is spectacular and absolutely a perfect place for hang gliding. The dunes are high and the sand is soft, perfect for landing. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed. It has become our favorite experience in the Outer Banks!
