I scheduled scuba diving for beginners for a party of 8 including a child and a 70 year old woman. I’m not one to complain or write reviews but in this case I feel I need to so that no one else is taken advantage of. We were not given clear directions to the location we were going to meet our guides. We walked all over the park In search of location that wasn’t obvious. When we arrived Vanessa and Kyle, our guides, were not welcoming, nor friendly. They were obviously annoyed that we had a hard time finding their location, which had no signs, nor directions and it was in the middle of nowhere. The scuba diving instructions were given in a rush and they acted as we were an inconvenience. When they gave the instructions on how to scuba dive and now to use the gear, they were impatient and Kyle would look at Vanessa and roll his eyes sarcastically. My dad who is 66 needed additional instructions and Kyle was not patient. When I was in the water and they were about to take us down to the reef , I had a panic attack , I don’t know how to Swim and Vanessa was impatient and kept rushing me to give her my hand because she needed to get to the rest of the group. The verbal instructions and the gearing up was about 30 minutes. My groups scuba diving time was literally 10 minutes. My kids and family members loved scuba diving and they loved their experience in the water BUT didn’t expect for it to be 10 minutes, especially after all the money I spent on this experience FOR A PARTY OF 8. When booking the scuba diving sessions it states that your experience will be from 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs. We had max 15 min of scuba diving time. We were given 9 videos that range from 4 seconds to 10 seconds. Out of the 8 people I paid for only 6 participated. Sebastian my 6 year old was too young to participate therefore he wasn’t allowed. My mom who is 70 preferred not to participate. After speaking to the manager , it was decided that they were not going to make an exception to refund me the money for my mom and son. Even after telling them about our experience of being rushed and not given our allotted time. Like I said my family loves the almost 15 minutes of scuba diving time they had and Vanessa was kind to repeat the instructions in Spanish. After warming up to us she was professional and pleasant. Kyle was always very serious and unapproachable. Companies like Try Scuba should hire professionals that love what they do, have patience and kind. They also need to take into consideration that not everyone has money to book these type of actuaries and the ones that do, like me, It’s because I saved up.
