Learn to surf in Santa Cruz during a 2.5-hour clinic designed with the beginner in mind. Novices are welcome, as well as anyone who has tried surfing but could use some tips for balancing on the board and catching a wave. You'll get plenty of practice with paddling and pop-up techniques while learning about wave breaks, ocean conditions, and safety in and out of the water, including surf etiquette. My better half tried her hands o surfing for the first time and it is safe to say that she enjoyed her time. It was informative and fun at the same time. Will be back again, for sure!

I've been surfing twice with Adventure Out - once back in Sep 2019 and once in Oct 2020 - and I have to say that the Covid surfing experience was every bit as good as the pre-Covid surfing experience. Adventure Out's team has done a phenomenal job of maintaining a truly superb (and safe) experience during a difficult time. The surf instructors are all fantastic, and the group lessons were a perfect blend of information and experience. I also want to give a special shoutout to James. He was one of my instructors both times I went out on the water with Adventure Out. James truly stood out as an amazing instructor. I was wildly impressed by his ability to explain difficult concepts in simple ways, his friendliness, and his proactive one-on-one coaching. I am fairly certain that he pulled aside every single member of our group for at least ten minutes of private, personalized instruction.
