I would give this rating 100 stars if I had the option. We have absolutely NO regrets about taking this tour and 100% recommend experiencing it for yourself! Our guide was Kelsey, and we absolutely loved her. She was so sweet and so smart and so interesting. She knew everything about anything we asked about, and never made us feel dumb for asking all of our inane questions. To the contrary, she frequently validated me by responding with "that's a great question!" Our tour began in Gardiner, MT which is the north entrance to the park. Kelsey was an absolute pro in every way, including all the attention to detail. There were snacks and beverages provided all day long, along with lunch mid-day. The van was clean and comfortable, and everyone had generous viewing access. We were two in a tour group of five and I have to say part of the overall experience was being teamed up with some awesome people who very quickly became great friends (shout out to Chris and Tim, and Ashley!). Kelsey took us to some of her personal favorite "hot spots" and believe me when I say she did not disappoint. She even knew where all the best rest rooms were, as well as how to get around the heaviest traffic! The crown jewel was that she knew where the very best view of Old Faithful was, and believe me, she was spot on about that. In the course of our day, we saw multitudes of elk, bison (including babies!), one black bear, several loons, five trumpeter swans, an eagle, and SO much more. Kelsey brought a spotting scope so we could see wildlife off in the distance and took pictures with her phone and texted them to us. Some of the stops throughout the day were Mammoth Hot Springs, Roaring Mountain, Grand Prismatic Spring, Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone River Upper Falls, just to name a few. Other highlights that were not stops but were pointed out as unique and interesting features of the park were Obsidian Cliff, Artists Paintpots, Beryl Spring, Gibbon Falls, the Continental Divide, Hayden Valley, and so much more. Honestly it was such a packed day of sightseeing and learning, I can't remember everything we experienced. I learned more from Kelsey about volcanic activity and calderas than I ever thought I would. There is NO WAY we would have gotten as much out of our visit to YNP as we did if we had not taken this tour and tried to capture the experience on our own. Just for starters, we would have spent most of the day stuck in traffic. Thank you, Kelsey, for making my lifelong bucket list item which was to see YNP an experience beyond my wildest dreams! I will never forget you, and never be able to thank you enough.
