We took the tour with Sarah, a history graduate who did a wonderful job of telling the stories, ”linking the dots” of the people, relationships, and political climate around the witch trials while still entertaining us. She was careful to ensure we got the documented history, and more recent historical facts as well as interspersing a challenging topic with her version of “dad jokes”. She made the people real, not just names. Sara talked not just of the witch trials, but also of the greater history of Salem including the shipping port and the great fire that ravaged the city, as well as the current tourism industry and delicious restaurants. Job well done, and I recommend this tour highly!

My friend and I took a Bewitched night tour our first time in Salem, hoping to get more insight into the town and its history (wandering around aimlessly and saying “this looks cool” only gets you so far!). Our guide Sarah was FANTASTIC. The two hours flew by and were cram-packed with interesting behind-the-scenes facts of Salem. Sarah was awesome at breaking up all of the history with jokes and participation, and was practically a walking encyclopedia. Didn’t feel like a tedious lecture (unlike some walking tours), and was super easy to understand. Engaging and on-the-go the whole way through. Take this tour—you will not be disappointed!!

After trying to narrow down the type of tours I wanted to experience while visiting Salem I decided on the Bewitched Historical Tour- and I am certainly glad I did! Sarah did a phenomenal job and beautifully blended the history of the city with compelling stories of the lives of former residents. I have since recommended this tour to two friends who will be visiting the city in the coming week!
