We rode a chunk of the Mickelson trail with Joel, great guy/guide. Melina was excellent help with the planning and arrangements, prior to our arrival. We were picked-up at our VRBO, and it could not have been easier. Thanks for the miles! Highly recommended!

My husband, 15 yo daughter and I booked this by stumbling upon a similar (but more aggressive) bike trip. A quick email to Melina and she responded with a call to give me options that we maybe more attainable for the 3 of us (my husband is a biker, my daughter and I are both in shape but not routine cyclers). We settled on an 18 mi Dumont to Mystic with optional additional 14mi to Hill City (the second half was for sure much more work). Our guide, Joel, picked us up at the appointed spot in Rapid City and took us to the trail head in Dumont. He prepped us and our bikes, gave us a snack, water bottle and a map with details on when we would see him again. Periodically throughout the day he met us on his bike snapping pics and pointing out sites to see. At the 10mi mark, he had a picnic waiting for us. Then at 18 we decided to carry on. The second half is not for sissies but we did it! He met us along the route several times so we could have thrown in the towel, but we made it to the end. He rode the last couple miles with us to the van. The he dropped us back off at our car. THIS WAS A FANTASTIC TRIP!! And ANYONE that can get on/stay on a bike could do the first 18 miles. We saw many ebikes along the way. I cannot describe how beautiful the views were along the way. Multiple bridges and tunnels. Our tour was organized well, and it was an unforgettable experience. Do not hesitate to book this adventure!

So well organized! Hired Black Hills Tour to make hotel reservations (all prepaid), rent one e-bike for a rider for pick up in Deadwood, and pick up in Edgemont in a large van to take us back to Deadwood, our starting point and location of our cars.
