My family had a fantastic time on our Bioluminescent Kayaking Tour. This is our second time doing it (the first time was years ago), and we enjoyed this trip much better. We really appreciate that Get Up and Go does their tours in smaller groups, it made for a more intimate experience and we had more opportunities to talk with Scott & Liz and ask questions. Speaking of Scott & Liz... 10/10. If and when we ever do this again, we will specifically ask for them. They were do fun and kind, chatting with my children (9yo &6yo) and answering all of their questions. When my daughter started to feel a little sea sick, Scott was right there to talk to her and help her feel better. I hope we can come back soon!

So..how do you spend a late night in Florida? How about one that pretty much eliminates the possibility of pictures but leaves them embedded in your memory? Travel into the dark and revel in the bioluminescence and contact with natures wonder. We chose a very dark night at the end of the season (yes this is a seasonal event) and were not disappointed. Our guides Scott and Liz were friendly, patient and informative as we joyfully paddled our clear kayaks through the dark night and played with the glowing waters. Dolphins popped up and snorted next to us and the guides spoke of Florida and the why's and wherefores of the waterways and mangroves. I am a native and frequented the area for many years going to Playalinda Beach and all the surrounding intercoastal areas, but never had experienced this. I recall walking the beaches at night and seeing our footprints glowing in the dark, but it is a really great experience sliding through the night. Slide faster and the water looks like stars sliding under you...splash your paddle and dip your hands and remember the wonders we never see sitting on a couch. We had an hour and a half from 10:30 to midnight that went by in a minute. I loved that we had a small group, 5 couples and the 2 guides and although there are other companies, I have no doubt we chose well. The experience was personal and a lot of fun. Do it, bring your loved ones and friends or just go with your special "other" and mark a spot in your memory.

Bioluminescent kayaking has been on my bucket list for the last couple years and have never been able to make the time to do it. Scott and Liz did a great job and made it worth the wait! They had great knowledge of the area and made it fun for everyone involved.
