CLEAR KAYAKS! We'll get you checked in right when you arrive to allow for the most possible time on the water! Once you're all checked in, we'll give some basic paddle instructions and information about the tour ahead. The paddle will last about an hour and a half depending on the speed of our group and any wildlife we may see along the way. Bioluminescence is the emission of light by a living organism. When the organisms move in the water they create a beautiful glowing effect. This means that you can see fish underwater by the glow that they give off as they swim, your paddle will glow as you maneuver the waterways, and the natural flow of water will illuminate these organisms. The great thing about paddling in our clear kayaks is that you can also see the glowing directly below you! Paddling in a clear kayak will enhance your bioluminescence viewing experience by a long shot!

Let me first say that we took a sunset tour, titled "BIOLUMINESCENT" according to their website. Well, from our 90 minute tour, not even 5 minutes was spent on Bioluminescent. Perhaps the name should be changed to simply a kayak tour in heavily mosquito-ed areas. When the Bioluminescent did start, we had to quickly get out because the next tour was starting in 30 minutes. Even the picture they show as the main picture of the tour (or the video seen on their website) is completely misleading. We did not see anything anywhere near to that. I understand that wild life can be unpredictable but then you should not market it like that. I will add that our tour guides were knowledgable, although very confusing. They themselves seemed to be unsure of exactly what to say and do. The sites preparation tips were helpful with regards to bug protection even though they got me anyways. I would strongly avoid this tour.

The guides were so friendly and informative! Bring tons of bug spray, tons! Take it on the kayak too because your feet get wet and then you need to reaply bug spray! I went potty in the public bathroom and I highly recommend you spray your butt or the toilet seat too. My butt got bit! They attacked our faces and we have bites on our faces! Ouch! The bio visability wasn't very good that night, no like I had hoped! You should do more research about conditions or why it's more visable one night over another night. And we did the 8:45 and I highly recommend you do the later one. It got better as we were leaving!

Thank you for your 5 star review! We're so glad you had a blast. We also encourage guests to use DEET-free repellent via our website, confirmation and reminder emails. We just ask that you use the repellent before enter the kayaks to avoid fogging them up! Ideally, any night where the moon is 55% or less would be a great time to come out! Was an amazing kayak tour. We went on the 4th of July and were able to see some fireworks. Jason and Blaine were excellent guides. Would recommend this to friends and do again.
