We had three different guides...not because we were hopping on and off, but rather we kept reaching a point where we were told that if you wanted to continue, you had to switch trolleys. One guide was FANTASTIC...knowledgeable and very funny! Obviously a native Bostonian, proud of his city! The other two were just okay, pretty boring, not as though they had any real passion for the history of Boston. My big issue was the hop on and off feature. I was under the impression that the stops would be in front of a major site, mostly along the Freedom Trail, and that you could get off, see those sites and then hop back on and go to the next stop and do the same. We got off exactly once, immediately got turned around because we were just at a bus stop in Boston, and would have had no idea where to go had their not been an outdoor performer in the front of Quincy Market so we could follow the sound to get there! When we were ready to get back on the trolley, we walked back to where we were dropped off, only to find there was no Trolley Stop sign, so we ended up walking several blocks in either direction, assuming we weren't in the right place, only to watch from a block away as our trolley came and left from that unmarked location! When we finally got back on, we were too nervous about getting lost in Boston to get back off again, so we took it back to where we started and were done with it.
