On our Secret Food Tour: Boston, you'll savor the freshest seafood and the famous Italian dishes that have been a staple in the North End for the past 100 years. As you explore the vibrant culinary scene, you will learn about the city's 400-year history, one bite at a time. On this tour, you'll sample famous clam chowder, a fresh lobster roll, delightful Arancini, a classic Chicken Parmesan sandwich, and a mouth-watering dessert. Plus, don't forget our Secret Dish!

As a private tour, everything works around you! Our start times are much more easy going, dates can open up. It's a much more intimate and cozy experience. No need to shout over other tourists, you will have every question answered, and leave feeling like a native yourself!

The word “ disjointed” comes to mind to describe this tour. Having experienced several food tours in many cities, most of which were stellar, this one was not. We began by being rushed away from our first restaurant. We were given “18 minutes max” for what was usually a leisurely 45+ minute experience. It felt rushed and we felt as if they did not want our group there. With 2 of the restaurants, our guide had to go inside and haul the food outside to stand up tables and dole it out. We had nothing to drink throughout- not even water! We had dessert in the middle of the offerings, and ended with some nuts snd ( actually quite tasty!) lobster roll. Everything felt rushed, odd, and out of sequence. The dining experience of sitting at a table was absent, except for the first stop. We stood almost the entire 2 1/2 hours. Certainly not comparable to others we’ve done, although our guide appeared to give a mediocre effort. Disappointing.

My husband and I had the most delightful and delicious private tour with Shannon our guide. Shannon is from the area and totally knows Boston. She gave us the history of the restaurants and food we ate. The restaurants that were chosen gave a great sampling of all the phenomenal food in Boston. We stopped at just a few historical sites. If you want an in-depth history walk, save that for another day. We look forward to another Secret Food tour in a new city.

This tour was canceled on my family less than a week before the trip. I underhand that staffing has been difficult for places but the reasoning was the flu (not CoVid which I’d understand, even with a fully vaxxed family, I don’t want to be around CoVid).

Because we are still in the middle of a global pandemic, we must act responsibly and take every illness reported to us by our team as seriously as possible. We reached out to you to cancel the tour as soon as our guide alerted us that they were not feeling well even though we were still waiting for the final results of their COVID-19 tests. Fortunately, our guide tested negative. The COVID-19 Pandemic has been a crushing blow to both our business and the industry as a whole and we hope you understand that we must take every precaution necessary to ensure the safety and wellness of all of our guests.
