My husband and I had a great time last night at BurlesQ. The host had us laughing from the start. The girls were beautiful and the numbers were creative and fun. The ventriloquist and her sassy sidekick were also fun. Service was good. Just what the doctor ordered for our first trip out of quarantine.

This show was a joke. The show was so overpriced for what it was. The dancers were pretty. The show seemed like it took place in a retirement home.

Disappointed to see you didn’t enjoy the show and found it “overpriced”; not sure on what you’d base that assessment as BurlesQ has a large cast (who you said were pretty) and we’re still operating under COVID-19 restrictions and still forced to perform in massive sterile ballroom space instead of intimate showrooms. We stopped performing BulesQ in retirement homes after complaints from the residents that the show was simply to sexy.

I honestly don't know how they can call this a show. I understand with COVID things are different, but when I think of Burlesque, I think of a classy show with props that tells a story and entertains you. The best part of the show was the Comedian or when it was over; it was a tie in that aspect. The show overall was a overpriced Tasteless Strip Tease; we've seen better at the strip club. We booked this as part of our girls weekend as we've attended others around the country that we really enjoyed. The Ball Room that this was in was dated and dirty. The stage was also dingy and dirty. But the worst parts were the lights blinding you throughout the entire show, you couldn't even see the show half the time because of the lights being shined in your eyes. They had a ventriloquist that was horrible. Her skit was absolutely terrible. In addition the server never came back, she came by once after we were seated (We were a few minutes lase due to the show time changing and wanted to listen to the beginning of the show) and asked if we wanted drinks and we said not yet, but please come back; she never did. For the price of this show, I would look at other options before booking. This was one of the worst shows I've ever seen.

Disappointed to see your review of BurlesQ. Possibly the root of your not enjoying the show is a misunderstanding of what the definition is of ‘burlesque’. Quite literally it is defined as “a variety show, typically including striptease.” Which is quite the opposite, obviously, of your thought that it should tell a story with props. The server passes through the room multiple times throughout the show; and there is a walk-up bar situated immediately outside the showroom serving the 150+ guests. With regard to the venue — yes we know we’re in a ballroom; we have to be with social distancing and COVID. Our normal intimate venues aren’t allowed to be used. Interestingly though all of the stage, curtains, lights and sound in that venue are brand new. Sorry that you were late arriving; turned the server away when asked if you wanted drinks; and have a different thought on what the show should be...
