I feel badly giving this show an average rating. I really want to rate it higher, but I have to be honest. I will say that a couple of outside factors may have affected my overall feelings, but all in all this show was average for my family. I had purchased our tickets on Groupon in advance and we also had tickets for/plans to go to Wonderworks and the Simpsons 4D Experience as well as some other things, so we arrived at Broadway at the Beach early in the day to allow ourselves enough time to get everything done. At the counter where I redeemed our Groupon voucher for actual show tickets, I found that the only show that day was not until evening. It was a very hot day and Broadway at the Beach in general was just too much (crowds and chaos) for my family. By the end of the very long day, my teenage daughter and I both had headaches and were feeling a little nauseous from the heat. I was also annoyed that after entering the theater, before you get a chance to find your seat, you are approached by a representative of Wyndham Resorts attempting to schedule a time share presentation in exchange for $10 in Wonderbucks. Anyway, once we got in our seats, I forgot all about the annoying sales pitch and just focused on enjoying the show. The seats in the theater are comfortable and it is small enough that there really isn't a bad seat. The show was entertaining and there were a few really good, really baffling magic tricks, but some of the tricks/illusions were kind of easy to figure out and felt more like the kind of mini magic show you'd see at an amusement park than a show all of its own. There was a lot of audience participation and some of the show's best moments were the reactions of the volunteers. Charles Bach is entertaining and you can tell that he is really trying hard to make it in this business. If you are a family with young children, I think this show would be really enjoyable and worth the ticket price. For my family, it wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped and if I had paid full price for the tickets, instead of getting them on Groupon, I would have left disappointed.
