Hannah, the guide was a pleasure and the information on Charleston that she provided was the highlight. The food was ok to good, not great. One dish was a standout. Much better exceptional food options in the city.

I wish I could give zero stars. I booked this tour several weeks ago. Planned my entire trip to Charleston around it and was informed two days before the tour that because I was a single attendee, the trip was cancelled. While I can empathize with the reason for the cancellation, it was very last minute and put a huge damper on my trip. I haven’t stopped talking about this tour to my friends and family for weeks. I was very excited. Then, I asked the host company for the list of restaurants that were part of the tour so I could go to them and try the food I was excited to eat. The company refused this compromise. Being a single attendee should not be a reason an entire tour is cancelled. Also, after scanning the tour listing, nothing noted that if there weren’t enough attendees, the tour would be cancelled. It was extremely inconsiderate. These tours are about culture and immersing yourself into the city’s scene like a local. I’d recommend finding a tour that’s hosted by true locals that love their city, not a company that is trying to make the most money possible.

While we empathise with your situation, we want to clarify that we are not at fault for this circumstance. As a tour company, we strive to provide enjoyable experiences for all our guests. However, there are times when a minimum number of attendees is required to ensure the quality and viability of the tour. Unfortunately, the minimum number of participants was not met in this case, leading to the cancellation. The issue isn't that you're a single traveller - we love groups of all sizes on our tours! - It's that you're the only guest booked at your preferred date and time, and it's the third-party restaurants and food vendors that we partner with that can't accommodate just one guest on our tours. We did warn you two days before the tour so it would be easy for you to make other plans. We understand your disappointment, especially after planning your trip around our tour and expressing your excitement to friends and family. While we empathise with your situation, we would like to emphasise that the cancellation was beyond our control, and we did not intend to cause any inconvenience. Regarding your request for a list of restaurants, we apologise for any confusion. It is important to note that the tour experience extends beyond simply visiting the restaurants. Our tours aim to provide a comprehensive cultural immersion beyond the food alone. Sharing a list of restaurants without the accompanying tour guidance may not provide the same enriching experience we strive to deliver. We appreciate your feedback and will consider it to improve our communication and provide more precise information about tour cancellations in the future. Our priority is to create memorable experiences for our guests, and we value the importance of local expertise and passion in delivering authentic tours.
