American Graffiti at a Mel’s Diner.

Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive: This is a city where the pawn shops are called “collateral lenders,” and make quick loans on Mercedes and Ferraris instead of toasters. This is a city where some of the clothing stores require customers to make advance reservations to shop, and where shoppers may routinely drop $100,000 or more in a single visit to a boutique on Rodeo Drive or Wilshire Blvd. A city where the post office offers valet parking. This town’s “Sister City” is none other than Cannes, France.

As an Ambassador for Los Angeles, our tour guide Alberto did an amazing job! We were picked up from the Ruby Princess, our luggage went right along with us, and we set off on an unforgettable tour. Alberto is very knowledgeable, has a fantastic personality, and makes the tour memorable for each guest. He suggests the best sites to take pictures from, knows exactly where everything is, provides free time to explore, and even sings on the journey! We ate at Mel's Diner where Alberto knows everyone by name. Along with our tour friends Bob and John from Ohio, we laughed at times until our sides hurt. This is an amazing way to see Los Angeles after a cruise especially if you have a long layover at LAX. Alberto took us right to our departing flight with Delta at the end of the tour. This is a must do for people wanting to see a lot in a short time. "Bless his heart" Alberto is top-notch!!!

We toured with Alberto who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of films and the history of Los Angeles and the World! It is a tour that gives a flavour of the city in one day and of course you cannot expect to see everything in those 8 hours. But you see and hear about the important facts about this extensive city. We found just one weakness in his knowledge of the world of entertainment, and Alberto promised to research Eva Cassidy whose voice reminds Jan and I of Karen Carpenter in some way. One of the most entertaining hosts for a sight seeing trip we have ever met. Thank you.
