My husband and I looked forward to touring Fort Lauderdale by bike on the last day of a vacation in Florida. Instead our last day consisted of driving through traffic to get downtown, finding parking in a parking garage, and then being panhandled while we waited in front of the closed Riverwalk Recreation store front for a guide who never showed. We had a pre-paid Groupon voucher. A month ago, Riverwalk Recreation charged our VISA card for the tax on the tour because Groupon does not cover tax. In addition we had two confirmation e-mails from Riverwalk Recreation (one sent just the previous day) telling us to be sure and arrive 15 minutes earlier than our 11:00 tour to be outfitted with bikes. After waiting awhile we called the phone number written on the outside of the closed store. Imagine our surprise and consternation to be told that it was our fault that they cancelled the tour because they had our home land-line phone number. Rather than “waste the time” of guides who might appear for no-show customers, our pre-paid voucher and two confirmation e-mails were ignored because the previous day, we did not answer our phone 1000 miles away. Now it is our problem to contact Groupon to get our money back. However, it is not the money that is most disappointing. It is the aggravation of not doing the bike ride and spending hours of our precious vacation time getting to and from downtown, uncomfortably and fruitlessly waiting and then being blamed for “miscommunication” by Riverwalk Recreation.

We wanted to book a bike tour but they only had the eTrike tour available on our day and asked if that would be okay. The eTrikes are essentially Segways with seats. Kelly was a great guide, very informative, and we really were able to get a feel for what Fort Lauderdale is like. We went through quiet neighborhoods, the riverfront area, and downtown and really enjoyed the refreshment stop! Looking forward to returning and doing the Burger Tour!

You have to see Ft. Lauderdale by water, there's just no other way, and this is WAY preferable to the big boat tours! I live here, and this is by far the best thing I have done in town, I will for sure be going back. Kelly and Chris were super nice and helpful, I was half an hour late and they were really cool when I called to let them know, we got there, signed our paperwork and were in the kayaks in 15 minutes. I can't say enough about how beautiful it is out on the river, it's just the best way to see all of the gorgeous homes and inlets. This was my first time in a kayak and I had no problem at all, I went with my 69 year old mother (who happens to be an athlete so maybe not so great for other 69 year-olds), but she had no problem either, it's not strenuous or hard. This is such a great deal, you will not be sorry and I can't recommend these guys enough. I will probably go back next weekend
