For our last day in Colorado, my wife suggested we go whitewater rafting. My eldest daughter and two sister in laws agreed leaving me out voted. When we arrived at the meeting location the first people we met were quite friendly and helpful. After filling out the forms (which takes no time at all) we were given a safely class outside. Mark, who was giving the brief, was hilarious but very thorough. His instructions were very clear and his humor and smooth transitions gave me the impression we were dealing with people who love doing what they do and were very experienced. The bus drive to the drop off point was only about 15 mins and this is where we met our guide, Kevin. Kevin was extremely friendly and gave us another block of instruction before we moved into position. One thing I immediately liked was how the guides wanted separation but were close enough for them to assist each other if needed. Kevin began to explain the route before we got in letting us know what to expect. As we approached first drop, our boat began to go and my wife and sister in law fell out. Kevin saved the boat from going over and as soon as the two broke the surface, Kevin had them both in the boat within seconds ( not gonna lie I was very impressed) like it was just a stroll in the park. My wife thought it was the funnest thing ever. During the calm portions, Kevin was great for conversation. He was easy to talk to, funny, and the type of guy I’d love to go have a beer with. As someone who used to ride bulls, skydives, and some other outdoor activities, I did not think I was going to have this much fun. This is now something I would love to get more in to and have my other kids do when they get older. Thanks again to the staff and our guide Kevin for this amazing experience!
