I had an excellent time flying with Patrick and Rainbow Ryders! I highly recommend this trip to anyone, especially those who may be turned away by a fear of heights. As soon as we took off, our pilot Patrick kept the balloon at a lower altitude and took the time to tell us how he operates and controls the ballon. This was extremely reassuring and gave you the time as a passenger to adjust and feel comfortable in the balloon. The rest of the flight was very peaceful, and of course very beautiful. I have lived in Colorado for most of my life, and I have never seen a better view of the front range than I did flying with Rainbow Ryders. Although I didn't want the flight to be over, our landing was very smooth. As soon as we touched down, the rest of the crew was there to assist our pilot and shortly after we were greeted with a champagne toast. Overall, the flight was amazing and this truly is a bucket list activity. I definitely will be flying again with Rainbow Ryders!

My wife surprised me with a hot air balloon ride. We've never taken such a ride and I am not comfortable with heights. We arrived at the Hotel Elegante where we checked in. The morning was beautiful. We climbed in the van where they took us to the launching area. We watched then lay out and blow up the balloon. The basket stood up and they were ready for us to get in. The basket is very sturdy and comfortable to stand in. It was,a bit cool, but under the fire it was very nice. Lift off was smooth and effortless. We drifted easily over the neighborhoods. We reached 2,000 feet above ground (8,000 above sea level). We were traveling between 12 and 18 miles an hour. Because we were drifting with the wind you do not feel the wind. The views were beautiful. Our pilot said it was one of the most perfect days for flying. The flight lasted just over an hour and we landed in the northern part if the city. As we landed the pilot asked us to grab the strap, bend knees and turn our backs toward the direction we were going. We bounced once, then we dragged a bit, then gently the basket ended up on its side. We were basically laying down. Everyone had a blast. After the ride we were given a certificate of the flight, a continental breakfast, and juice or champagne. Of course you can have a Mimosa or what is called a Colorado Sunrise (one part each of OJ, cranberry juice, and champagne). We were grateful to land safely so chose the Colorado Sunrise :)

What a wonderful surprise gift! It truly is hard to beat the views of our beautiful Colorado landscape from that high up in the sky. AMAZING!!! This was a bucket list item for sure and we picked the best company to go with! Rainbow Ryders had the best customer service from the beginning to the end! They were very helpful and answers all of our many questions and concerns before we made our final decisions. Patrick was our pilot and he was awesome! He was very informative, funny, and totally made the trip for our family! It was a beautiful day, so watch the weather before you book because this does make a difference! The nice weather helped us go higher to see the beautiful views! Even higher than any of the other balloon companies, we could see them down below. I was very nervous for myself because of some health issues, but they made me feel very comfortable and the altitude and heights did not bother me at all. The hardest part was climbing inside the basket as a short person but even that was a lot easier than I thought it would be! Here's how it works, you meet at a hotel in CS before sunrise, get in the "chase" 15-passenger van to ride out to the launch site, blow up the balloon ( my daughter got to help and loved it) and set up which takes 10 min, everyone gets in(up to 12 people), they will take your pictures if needed, very smooth launch and you are above the city in no time to see the beautiful sunrise! We could see Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods from overhead, a beautiful ranch area with jack rabbits and huge herds of antelope. Just beautiful! Because the winds are different every day, the landing site is different, so when it's time to land Patrick will guide the crew with the chase van to possible landing sites. The neighbors where we landed were all coming out to see the balloon and waving at us, literally stopping traffic! We shared champaign and juice with the land owners and they were so kind and welcoming! With your ticket you receive drink, pastry, a keepsake glass, and a special toast. The van takes you back to the hotel and you receive a certificate of completion. This was such a great experience! I highly recommend this company and look to see if they still have the groupon price! You will not regret this once in a lifetime opportunity and Colorado is a beautiful place to glide over!
