The tour was very informational, as well as lively and fun! Sam was a great tour guide who shared the stories in a very engaging way, always making sure to answer questions and acknowledge guests. I would definitely recommend taking this tour for anyone in the area!

If you've invested 20 minutes reading Wikipedia or watching any YouTube video about Jeffrey Dahmer, there will be nothing new for you with this tour as you'll walk up and down one street and see the exteriors of three buildings that Dahmer may have frequented during his time in Milwaukee. That's it. And if your luck is running thin as ours was, your guide will continually check her cheat sheet in order to keep track of the narrative and will be distracted by just about everything around her including passing cars, pedestrians and general city street life. We were quickly resolved that our guide offered nothing in the form of personality, witticism, or any of gravitas you typically find with people who guide these tours, however, after plunking down $80 for the two of us, we decided we were going to stick it out. We've done quite a few of these types of tours all over the world and this was the only one that was so bad that we bailed on it about 2/3rds of the way through. I find it hard to believe this tour is rated favorably by a nationally-recognized source when essentially you're paying $40 to do a lot of walking on one street, see a couple of shuttered business fronts while being fed an anemic amount of information. You can do much better by spending a few minutes with Wikipedia. As a side note: prior to posting this review, I browsed other reviews and was surprised to see snarky comments from the owner in response to critical reviews. One customer was accused of "stinking up the air" when they related their poor experience. When another reviewer pointed out that drinks at the bar were expensive, the owner mocked the customer by saying, "I'd suggest you stay in (your small town) and save your money and drink alone in your garage until you are ready to venture into the big city. Cheers." This doesn't sound like a company that is willing to earn the business of customers who have a genuine interest in the experiences of others who've taken the time to share honest critiques of that company's services. We'll be certain to give Hangman Tours a hard pass in the future.

We're so sorry that you were not satisfied with you tour. It is very rare that we receive a review like this one, as all of our tours are very well-recognized especially our Cream City Cannibal Tour. We have a few brand-new guides who have just recently started giving the CCC tour, and they're encouraged to use notecards in order to keep the numerous important names and dates correct until they are confident enough to know them precisely. Kirsten was a great guide. The tour was enlightening, lively, and the host venue Shaker's was super cool. I'll look forward to doing another one of their tour options and spending more time at Shaker's the next time I visit Milwaukee.
