17 miles, split into two unique biking experiences. Maui Bombers offers the premier biking experience on Maui. Voted #1 bike tour company for 2019-2024. The tour begins at 8 am. and lasts 4.5 hours. We offer the smallest group size, best equipment, longest bike ride and are the only bike tour company that uses biking helmets. All the other companies use full face motorcycle helmets. Added bonus, our start time guarantees the least amount of traffic to deal with and no other bike companies to deal with on the road!

We had a great day on the Cycle to the Sea tour! Matt was the guide and owner and Eric was the driver. Both were fun to hang out with. I would definitely recommend this tour. A few things made it unique compared to the other tours we researched: - A great 8:00 start time. If you aren't doing a sunrise tour (not our thing) then this is a great start time. You're not up in the middle of the night, no other tour groups around, and you finish in early afternoon in Paia so you can spend a couple of hours after the tour checking out the town. - They use regular bike helmets instead of the bulky full-face helmets that are less comfortable and impede your vision a bit. - Lunch is included! A nice stop for lunch at a little cafe about 2/3's of the way down the mountain. - Small groups! The max they take is six, and our tour only had our family of four. This made for a pleasant drive up the mountain (not crammed in the van shoulder to shoulder with strangers) and Matt could customize the tour to our ability level. And of course the ride down was great! Awesome views, fragrant smells, and the excitement of riding a bike in such a magnificent local. Lots of smile all around! Thanks Matt and Eric!

Our first day in Maui was spent cycling down Haleakala through Makawao to Paia with Matt and our group of 4. Matt is gregarious and genuinely wants you to enjoy Maui and have a great experience. We were picked up at our hotel at a reasonable 7:30 am with home-made muffins. Although it is pretty obvious from the tour details that you will be riding down steep descents, I spent the first part of the ride brakes in hand. As we were riding on Trek Bikes with normal bike helmets (unlike the other groups we saw), I felt comfortable that the equipment was good while rapidly cycling around switchbacks. We then rode to Makawao which is a cute country town for lunch and a stop at a bakery which has been operating 70 years (try the sugared donuts) then through the lovely countryside on our way to Paia, a beautiful beach area. Loved the ride and the experience, Matt. Thank you - it was a great day!

We chose this company based on the reviews. I called and spoke to Matt (the owner and immediately likable). I asked a lot of questions considering I was worried about my boy tweens making it down the mountain (unpredictable) and possibly being hurt. We showed up an he had extremely safe bikes (trek)all new, helmets, jackets and gloves (and I needed a bandaid and he had a whole kit.) He has snacks, drinks and he made muffins which were amazing. Matt led us down the mountain while Eric drove the van behind us heading off any traffic. This was a safe and super fun trek right down. It was fast and we were all smiling the whole time. My kids are tough to get out for an adventure and they said this has been the best thing on any of our trips. We stopped in a little town and had lunch (included in the price). I forgot while in the town we were even biking down. We really felt like we had a great experience besides just being at a resort. We saw all sorts of animals (chickens, cows, donkey, sheep, birds, horses and a pig.) The scenery was totally different through each part down. Especially the flowers. We ended at the beach and we are still sitting here now. He also air dropped us tons of videos and pictures which we rarely even saw him take! If you do anything on your trip- do this! It is fun, personal and totally geared towards families. We are so happy we didn’t go with the other companies. Matt (owner) and Eric were pleasant to be around and we can’t wait to do this again someday when we get back to Maui. Mahalo Maui Bombers!!!!
