17 miles, split into two unique biking experiences. Maui Bombers offers the premier biking experience on Maui. Voted #1 bike tour company for 2019-2024. The tour begins at 8 am. and lasts 4.5 hours. We offer the smallest group size, best equipment, longest bike ride and are the only bike tour company that uses biking helmets. All the other companies use full face motorcycle helmets. Added bonus, our start time guarantees the least amount of traffic to deal with and no other bike companies to deal with on the road!

My husband and I did the self guided bike ride on February 2, 2025. Just a short way into the ride, my husband had a catastrophic fall, broke multiple ribs and clavicle and was knocked unconscious. He ended up in the ICU. We had to stay in Maui for an extra 2 1/2 weeks due to his injuries, and now, back on the mainland, he is currently undergoing major surgeries to repair multiple fractures. We attribute the fall at least partly to front brakes on the bike, which we had noted, and stated, were very worn down and did not seem to be working properly. We are very experienced cyclists, and this was not a high speed fall, but slow and controlled. Be careful on this ride and make sure the bikes are in top condition.

I rarely take the time to write reviews BUT this outfit absolutely blew other doors off of all expectations. Had a large group of friends go with a much more popular and larger tour group. And we decided the getting up at 2 am and wearing motorcycles helmets wasn’t us. We asked the local staff and the local uber drivers for advice and Bombers came up more than once. Best decision we made so far on Maui. My wife and I are in our 60’s. BUT we still ski and roll with our 30 year old kids when we bike jet ski etc. We ride bikes at home and appreciate the quality of the gear, bikes and helmets that made sense and let us enjoy the view and gave us confidence in BOMBING down the mountain. Eric and Dave. Local local dudes that are living there dream and love what they do. It shows. RECOMEND 10 out of 10. If you don’t have a good time and smile the whole time with these guys then you’re probably never going to!!

This HAS TO be the best downhill biking company in Maui. Matt was awesome. He was communicative, flexible, and incredibly hospitable (he even made homemade muffins and passion fruit bars for us). The shuttles were clean, bikes were well maintained, and it was the most affordable company we found. I would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you, Matt & Kyle!
