I visited Burlington on my own, without a car, and booked the Waterbury-Stowe day tour so that I could explore Vermont beyond Burlington. I coordinated with Natalia to take the tour on a day when she had a four-person group already booked. However, when I met her at my hotel, she told me that the group had cancelled the night before. When I asked her why she hadn't cancelled with me, she said that she didn't cancel. While I certainly would have been disappointed had our tour not gone ahead, I surely would have understood, given that it was now just the two of us. But off we went, and the fact that the tour did go ahead speaks volumes about Natalia.
It was a super fun day, and Natalia was a wonderful guide to the area. We covered a lot of territory - Cold Hollow Cider Mill (featuring a wide variety of gifts, an exhibit showing how apple cider is made, and free samples of the cider), Trapp Family Lodge, Smugglers' Notch State Park, downtown Stowe (with time for me to have lunch and explore Main Street), and a tour of the Ben & Jerry’s factory. Throughout the day, she gave me background info on what I was seeing, and the time just flew by. Yes, I could have rented a car and driven to the same places on my own, but I wouldn't have had the additional knowledge and history.
Highly recommended!
