The Bus ride to the tours was hot and humid. Most of the people on the bus were seniors/women that complained they were cold, so the rest of us were forced to swelter in the heat with no air instead of the air being turned on and them putting on a sweater? The cart ride through Charleston was fun and informative, but there wasn’t too much time to shop in the market as advertised. The tour of Ft. Sumpter was nice but it would be much better as a guided tour instead of just a 10 un-rehearsed speech, and then to be let loose on our own. It was a good thing I was knowledgeable about the Fort so that I could conduct the tour for my wife. Then the tour of the Plantation was short and sweet. We only got a tour of the bottom floor of the house in which the owner still lives part-time? What, two or three days a year? Then instead of getting to spend any time touring the grounds, it was off back on the bus back home. Not enough time to tour that place either. And a boxed lunch with a sweaty Turku sandwich? Not impressed! For $358 I would have rather spent time at Fort Sumpter with a guided tour and one of the other places with a guided tour and a bus that was climate controlled maybe with USB ports and Wi-Fi?
