Trails are best described as moderate, with tree roots, hills, and mud in places. Bring your outdoor gear including sturdy walking shoes, water, jacket and rain gear. Some basic gear is available, including rain gear, overboots, trekking poles and water.

We did the evening walking tour with Johan and it way exceeded expectations! He was so passionate about nature and the ecosystem that it was impossible not to feel the same way…it was truly contagious! It was a great experience, we learned so much, and definitely recommend!

Our guide, Johan, was absolutely perfect. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the biology in Denali and had a great time talking to Johan and the other tour members. We’re very glad that we went on this tour.

We took the walking tour with Andy on 6/13/24 - my husband and I plus two teenage boys, ages 15 and 17. We’d already had a pretty heavy hike earlier in the day so we wanted to take it way little easier and really appreciated Andy asking our group if we wanted to take it easy or step it up a notch. Andy was very clear and helpful about what to do should we encounter a bear or moose which made us feel safe and prepared. Along the hike he shared a tremendous amount of information about the plant life and Alaska itself. He was very knowledgeable and really wanted us to get the most out of our time in the woods. It was incredibly beautiful and we again took a ton of pictures. Highly recommend this trek with Andy!
