I've been on two of Rayn's subway tours and they were both incredibly interesting. Rayn is a fabulous tour guide who communicates clearly and is equipped with thorough research and specialized knowledge from his time working for the MTA. He covers the history of the stations as well as current subway operations, and shares his insight on the engineering and political factors determining the subway's future. Really above and beyond. I highly recommend this tour for both native New Yorkers and visitors - everyone will learn something new and have a great time.

Super cool tour, this was my first one with Rayn, and have since done another one of Lower Manhattan as well. Each had a slightly different focus. The Penn Station/Grand Central tour covers a ton of info on the two train stations, cool hidden (but publicly accessible) areas, and gives you a sense of how they've evolved and the role they played in city history. Combined with trips on the subway, where Rayn covers both technical details and politics, it's a great intro to the transportation infrastructure that is vital to NY.

I enjoyed my tour with Rayn. His passion for NYC transportation shone through. It was a small group, so there was more than ample opportunity to ask questions. Grand Central and Penn are surprisingly interesting, so this was a fun way to learn a bit more about them than I'd otherwise have known from just traveling through them.
