So many rides were down. Firstly, Pirates is down for refurbishment, ...ok. But they decided to refurbish Toon Town at the same town, so right away, down several attractions. My daughter had been looking forward to Toon Town, specifically the rollercoaster next to Goofy's house and Mickey and Minni's house. Last time we visited, Toon Town was closed then too. Then, after waiting in line for It's a Small World, it also went down, followed by Indiana Jones, then we waited 45 minutes in line for Thunder Mountain when it also went down. I waited in line at Autotopia for an hour in 90-degree heat for a 5 minute ride. Then I asked myself afterwards, "Why did I just ride a car attraction in a car that won't steer, after driving 5 hours on hell highway to get here??" ..but I got in line because so many other rides weren't running. I rode it by default! So at the end of the day, I did Dumbo, Autotopia, Buzz Lightyear, Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room and my family did Splash Mountain. Mix food and shopping in-between, ...and that's it!!! That's all I did for $760 worth of tickets, $400 dollars in hotel stay. Every line was 45 minutes or more with the exception of the Tiki Room, in 90-degree heat. Waaaay too crowded, made even worse because so many attractions weren't running, everybody was forced to line up for the few open rides. And seriously, Autotopia and Jungle Cruise need some SERIOUS modernizing! It remains nearly identical to the way there were in 1976, the first time I went. And the stupid jokes from the boat captain was sheer torture. We actually made it to the last parade of the evening, found street-side seats well before the parade started, while late comers crowded under the rope last second. Then 5 minutes before the floats come by, a Disneyland attendant tells everyone to stand and move up to the street. So of course, all the selfish teen late-comers push in front of all the adults, kids, and people in wheelchairs, because the attendant just gave them permission to. I wanted to slap them, but really wanted to slap the attendant even more. How are the handicap wheelchair patrons supposed to move up?? They couldn't! Stupid teens walked right in front of EVERYBODY. We were just fine before the attendant arrived! It's not the Disneyland I used to love growing up. They use reservations, ...but take too many. There's just too many people, PERIOD. So if you don't pay for the Lightning Pass/Genie App, which will add hundreds of dollars to your day for a family, you're in for a hot, frustrating exhausting day. I'm sorry, but it's just too hard to justify the time and expense of a trip to Disneyland nowadays. 2 out of 5 stars.
