Discover Lake Tahoe’s rugged eastern shore, visit magnificent overlooks and beaches, and learn about the area’s connection to the Pony Express and lumber industry.

This 27-mile tour begins outside Sierra Sotheby’s International and continues along the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe from Incline Village to South Lake Tahoe. As you drive, you’ll hear stories about the area’s past. You’ll also learn about:

• Incline Villages’ Millionaire’s Row
• The Ponderosa Theme Park
• The history behind Thunderbird Lodge
• Lake Tahoe’s second growth forest
• Cave Rock and its connection to early Native American History
• Early Mail Delivery and the Pony Express

This driving tour can be completed in about 90 minutes without any stops. Along the way, you’ll have the option of visiting a few of Lake Tahoe’s out-of-the-way beaches and two Nevada State Parks, hiking to the base of Cave Rock, or enjoying a beverage or meal lakeside. Parking fees are not included in the price of this tour.

We drove around Lake Tahoe leaving the Hyatt around 10 am and returned around 2. For the 1st third of the trip we used this guide. We were amazed at how accurate the turn directions were. The narration was interesting and helped us determine where to stop. We would recommend for anyone looking for some guidance around the lake. There were two other segments available for the entire trek. We elected to go it on our own.

What an awesome trip! This was only part of the three part series but it was fun AND informative. I've been coming to Lake Tahoe since I was a child, but it definitely gave another spin on our trip around the lake. Highly Recommend!

This was our third tour in this series. It was a wonderful addition to our family vacation. Wow, so impressed with all the new things we were able to discover along Lake Tahoe's East shore. Without the tour pointing out the highlights we would have missed a lot! Enjoyed listening to the many stories and history of the area. We really enjoyed the short hikes at Sand Harbor and Cave Rock. The views from Logan Shoals and Memorial Point were right off the highway and pretty impressive. Have really only scratched the surface in our exploration of the Nevada side. Nice to know we have this tour to explore even more the next time we visit Lake Tahoe. Being able to also download the free on line hiking map brochure was a real plus. Most definitely worth the price.
