Seriously after my husband booked this tour is was already panicking haha. But after reading it’s stellar reviews (Trip advisor reviewers know what’s up) I felt so much better and was actually very excited. Let me tell you we had done ONE small repel years ago in another country (AUS) and it was nothing like what we experienced with EZE. First off, EZE equipment is much newer and more secure feeling in terms of safety. Secondly, our guide, Koleman, was superb! As young as he was, this kid had a ton of knowledge and skill (and dare devil-ness) that made an old lady (46) like me envious! He was super chill and calm which tremendously helped my nerves calm down. We only had a small group of 4 adults and he could immediately sense our varying levels of skill and gave us all helpful tips as we ascended down these amazing slots. And lastly, he always was making sure we were having a blast and pointing out cool things whether it was on the UTV ride over or at the highest peak (or rock bottom) point in the canyons! I’m still in awe that we did this 6 hour tour.. just trust yourself you can do it and you’ll have some fantastic memories/photos for a lifetime! Thanks EZE— we’ll definitely be back again for another adrenaline adventure soon!
My only suggestions for EZE: Please provide ice or ice packs in your cooler to keep perishable food cool in the heat and a tarp or blanket to sit on during the lunch break would be great!
Pro tips:
- comfortable sweat wicking, layering, clothes
- a small bag to keep in the UTV to hold your hat, snacks, water bottles, etc.
- leather gloves if you’re an experienced canyoneer
- cash to tip your amazing guide because they truly deserve it.
