I thoroughly enjoyed this day. They were prompt in picking us up and getting to designated locations on time. The first part of the day was the boat ride out into the 10,000 islands area to find dolphins. Our captain and first mate were knowledgeable about all the wildlife in the area and did an excellent job of locating dolphins and getting them to play in the wake of the boat. Our land tour was also excellent. The walk was an easy one along a wooden walkway and again, the guide's knowledge of the plant and animal life was incredible. The pace was reasonable and allowed enough time to really absorb what we were seeing. The interactive nature of the tour kept everyone engaged. Lunch in Everglade City was good and the stop along the road to view alligators up close and personal was amazing. The finale was the airboat ride on Lake Trafford. Again, the captain really knew his stuff and made sure that we all saw the variety of bird life, alligators and plants that abound in the area. An added bonus was all the rescue animals that they have. Because two of the boats were out of commission that day, there was a delay but our guide filled that time with bringing out some of the rescue animals for us to see an touch, like the king snake. Fascinating! It was a full day of getting in touch with a world that few of us will ever forget. It left me full of awe and wonder.
