Our cruise ended in Port Everglades and we had a late afternoon flight out of Ft. Lauderdale. We chose this excursion to fetch us at the port, hang on to our bags, then drop us off at the airport afterwards. Everything went seamlessly. Driver John was there ready and waiting at the port, in an orange alligator van that's hard to miss!
We were treated like VIPs: John shepherded us through the ticket lines of other groups and guided us to Cap't. Cody's airboat. We had a blast as "Swamp Thing" gave us the area's history and plant info, full of humor by this third-generation native-born captain. The ride on his airboat was fun and we spotted several alligators and iguanas. John was waiting for us with cold bottles of water and a photo of us holding the baby alligator.
The "Gator Boys" show turned out to be done by Gaby, who is definitely not a boy but a brave young woman from NY. Impressive!
Back on the van, John brought our bags and us to the airport with plenty of time to make the flight. What a fine way to end our trip! HINT- Bring lots of small (or large) bills to tip driver, boat captain, and alligator wrangler, as it's clearly requested and earned by these folks. Just think of it as a price increase...
