Explore San Diego Tide Pools with a Marine Biologist

Adventure with a marine biology educator along the coast and learn more about wildlife living in the intertidal zone of San Diego. Great for all ages and skill levels. There are some stairs and lots of uneven terrain we will walk on, so this is not a wheelchair-friendly activity.

I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our tide pool exploration.

Groups are kept small (10 people maximum, with exceptions for private groups/families) which makes this a more intimate and personal experience.

Snorkel Matt is absolutely awesome. We had a variety of ages in our group and he appealed/engaged everyone. The tour was very informative and we were able to observe many different tide pool inhabitants/flora. He communicated to us in advance with guidance on what to wear and expect. We were prepared before leaving home (Texas) and didn't have to rush out to buy anything at the last minute. Great sense of humor and we would sign up for any other activities Matt provided. We were signed up for his snorkel tour but unfortunately due to weather it was cancelled. He truly had our safety and enjoyment of his tours well thought and provided excellent service.

Tide pools everywhere to explore. After some training and closer focus we saw a variety of sea life that made us want to find more. Great foundation for doing more exploring on our own.

Had a great time with Matt! Worth it! Amazing the amount of wild life in the tide pools. I would not have ever noticed everything he pointed out and explained during the tour. 10/10 would do again.
