My girlfriend signed up for this and we weren't sure what to expect, but this was everything we had hoped for. We started by meeting Nick at the Giant Archway, just where he said he'd be, who then gave us our passes for our tours. Get there early so there are no lines, we did the 9am tour and it was perfect. We began with Cave of The Winds which was absolutely AMAZING! They provide you with brand new water flops that you can keep and a plastic bag for your clothes. You get up close and personal with the falls and it is an absolute breathtaking view from below. Listen to Nick because he will give you very helpful pointers to stay dry, even being directly below and IN the Falls.
We then met back up with Nick who guided us around the Falls and gave us so many interesting and knowledgeable stories of the Falls, American and Canadian. The views are gorgeous and it is an experience you will not forget. After the tour you're free to roam the park on your own, have lunch, ask Nick, he knows the places, then resume your day on a nice trolley ride around the entire park over to Maid of the Mist.
With the Maid of the Mist pass you get the Observation Deck and boat ride which can be done in either order. The deck gives you an amazing view of both Falls and the Rainbow Bridge connecting USA and Canada. Getting there early will also help with your Maid ride, we only waited about 10min before boarding. Try and get top level, up front, on the sides, or the back, these will give you the best views of both Falls, esp Horshoe Falls, you will be directly in front in front of them, and def be getting wet. Keep your Cave flops and plastic bag handy, we used them for this and the walk after and our shoes remained dry.
After the boat ride you can walk directly up to the falls on the deck that was built next to it for some quick pics, again, more amazing views and direct access to the Amaerican Falls.
The other parts of the Discovery Pass (without Nick) were less than exciting, Aquarium and Discovery Center were small and out of the way, but everything else was perfect. We had the best time learning Fun Falls Facts with Nick, got amazing views and pics of both Falls, from too to bottom, even IN them. This is something my girlfriend and I will remember forever, THANKS NICK!!
