We are the pioneers of NYC food tours since 1999!

Our tour will not only leave you full with EIGHT TASTINGS (not samples like on other Chelsea Market tours), but will include under-the-radar historical tales of Chelsea Market, like how it used to be a factory for Nabisco and the origin of the Oreo cookie. In addition to the trendy and bustling spots on the main floor, we will also visit Chelsea Local downstairs, where locals actually shop for their food.

8 tastings are included with this tour with two opportunities to sit down. All tastings are done inside Chelsea Market. We will make sure you leave full and satisfied with a buttermilk biscuit, homemade Italian crostata, NYC #1 hot dog, Pizza, Gelato and much much more!

Once outside, walk on the High Line, NYC’s elevated public park. You’ll hear compelling tales of the rail line that once served the West Side’s factories and butchers. You’ll wander through the Meatpacking District and find out how this area went from not to hot!

Join us as we reveal the secrets and uniqueness of one of the greatest indoor food markets. Discover why the OREO COOKIE was invented in this building in 1912. Enjoy artisanal foods including; an artisanal NY hot dog from Dickson’s, Sicilian Pizza from Filaga, NY State Cheeses from Saxelby’s, a delicious Italian Crostata from Buon Italia, a Japanese inspired Taco from Takumi Taco, Buttermilk Biscuit and Homemade Jam from Sarabeth’s, Gelato from L’arte Del Gelato, and always something special from Chelsea Market Baskets. Learn about the last of the Meatpacking District’s working butchers while learning about the nightlife revolution of this not-to-hot neighborhood.

The High Line Park

You'll take a guided walk on the HIGH LINE for three blocks, NYC’s elevated outdoor park. You’ll love hearing tales of the High Line trains that once served the butchers below the tracks and local industries, local building architecture and it's fashion scene, the Titanic and see the newly built Little Island.

Joe was fantastic!!! He was so knowledgeable about the area! His insights and his tips were phenomenal! The food on the tour was delicious. Absolutely recommend!!!

The food tour of the Chelsea Market with Cindy on a windy Sunday afternoon was very good. Cindy was full of information about the area, the market, the shops and the food. Each sample was delicious including the tasty half a hot dog in my picture. Cindy gave us time to fill water bottles, hit the bathroom or buy coffee as we went along to our tastings. I definitely did not need lunch after our 3 hour tour and felt like I had a great sampling of the savory and sweet market offerings. Even the tour on the High Line with the wind was still interesting and funny just come properly dressed for the cold or the heat if you do this in the summer.

We had a great time on a tour of the Chelsea Market and High Line with Joe as our guide. This is probably the third time we do this tour, and it gets better every time, in great part, due to Joe's insights and knowledge. We visited multiple eateries in a very well constructed order, beginning with pastry and spreadable fruit at Sarabeth's and ending with Gelato. Joe brought alive the history of the Chelsea Market, giving us new tidbits about how the Market came together as one building from 17 and the past and present tenants. He answered everyone's questions, no matter how varied or unrelated, and had personal insight into "Oz" the show produced at the TV studios in the Market (he was also an actor and appeared as an extra in some of the episodes). He offered additional suggestions at the end of the tour as a true New Yorker proud of his city. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you can get Joe along as the guide!
