Our family group had a great time on this whale watch tour. We had three adults and two children, ages 7 and 3. Karl, the captain, carefully got us where we could see orcas, a bald eagle, and harbour seals sunning with their pups. The naturalist, Sean, was full of interesting facts about the orcas and other wildlife and answered every question with a lot of interesting detail.
They actually took extra time when they spotted a second group of orcas, which ended up putting on quite a show. It was well worth the time and money spent. It was hard for the children to spot the orcas and other wildlife, especially the three-year-old, but we had brought plenty of snacks on board for the kids and that kept them going through the long ride back to shore.
Be sure to bring binoculars along. The boat doesn't get nearly as close to the orcas as the picture shows. You could see them with the naked eye, but not in detail.
