I did a lot of research to find the best whale watching tour. The comments on TRIP ADVISOR convinced me to go with Orcas Island Eclipse Charters and I was not disappointed. They had a good price deal on, and the owner called me to give me the details for our tour. We planned a group tour to celebrate our friend Rob's 40th Birthday. He has down syndrome and was given a 25 year life expectancy at birth. He loves whales. Captain Dan led us in singing Happy Birthday to Rob and let him sit in the wheelhouse for a good view. We saw (and smelled) Minke whales, dolphins, seals, and many bald eagles and their nests. All 10 of us really enjoyed the tour and Rob loved it. I'd love to do this again and would definitely choose Eclipse Charters again.

My wife and I came up for the weekend and I made my decision based on my initial phone call with the company. The staff (owners included) were all very nice, knowledgeable and professional. We got everything we expected and more. Through their network we went straight to where a small pod of Orcas were. We followed those whales for well over an hour and our boat always seemed to be in the best position. I have several great shots including a killer whale jumping completely out of the water. Afterwards we tool the longer way back to see bald eagles and other local wildlife. My wife loved the trip and that made me happy. Great staff. I would use them again. They are located right next to the ferry terminal so if you arent staying on the island it makes it an easy trip.

I was so fortunate to be on Orcas Express yesterday for a gorgeous tour through the San Juan Islands and to experience the awe of seeing minke whales gliding right along the side of the boat. Eagles, a gigantic eagle nest, harbor porpoise, all kinds of sea birds, sleepy fat harbor seals snoozing in the sun and everyone getting a first hand look at Mother Nature in action - minke whales and sea birds in a total feeding frenzy out in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Outstanding boat (super clean, comfortable), captain and crew - it was a remarkable experience. I would go again with Orcas Island Eclipse Charters in a heart beat. This company goes the extra mile to make sure everyone has a terrific adventure. Highly professional and knowledgeable crew. Highly recommend this charter to everyone.
